My name is Agata, pronounced Agatha

I am a qualified counsellor working with adults in Portsmouth, Hampshire, offering therapy sessions in person and online. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), a member of the Hampshire Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (HACP) and a student member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapy (COSRT). I work within their ethical frameworks to ensure my practice is safe, reflective, and professional.

Alongside my private practice, I work with local organisations supporting survivors of sexual and domestic abuse. This work has shaped me a lot, both personally and professionally, and continues to deepen how I understand trauma and the ways it can affect people.

My values

I grew up with an Eastern European background, which influences how I think about identity, culture, and belonging. I’m interested in how intersectionality influences the counselling experience. Rather than viewing people as fixed or defined, I understand each person as layered and constantly evolving. In my counselling work, I support clients in exploring these layers at their own pace, without pressure to reach quick conclusions or fixed answers.

Before training as a counsellor, I worked in design, which continues to influence my therapeutic approach. I am interested in what lies beneath awareness, the emotional and bodily experiences that are not always easy to express in words.

Alongside talking therapy, I may sometimes integrate creative or experiential ways of exploring feelings, depending on your needs and preferences. This can support deeper awareness when language feels limited and can help clients explore emotions, patterns, and relationships in new ways. All therapeutic work is guided by your consent, comfort, and choice.

I value individuality in all its forms, the parts that make sense and the parts that don’t, the contradictions, the uncertainty. I believe all parts of a person’s experience deserve space in therapy. I work inclusively with clients from all backgrounds, offering an affirming space for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities, which I also identify with, alongside a kink-aware, BDSM-friendly therapeutic approach.
